Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring

A 24-hour blood pressure recording that gives a much truer picture than a single clinic reading.

A blood pressure measurement taken once in a clinic can be misleading — many people are higher in clinic than at home ("white-coat" effect), or higher at home or overnight than in clinic ("masked" hypertension). Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring uses a small, lightweight cuff that records your blood pressure every 30 minutes through a full 24-hour cycle. We then review the full report with you — including the overnight readings, which are some of the most important predictors of long-term risk.
