Consultation
Patient information

What happens at your visit.

A simple, friendly process — designed so you can focus on you, not on paperwork.

Step by step

From hello to a plan — five simple steps.

01
Get in touch

Fill in our short form (or give us a ring). We come back to you within one working day.

02
We sort the cost

If you’re paying yourself, we send a clear written quote. If you have insurance, we sort the paperwork with them for you.

03
Your first visit

30 minutes with your consultant — relaxed, thorough, and never rushed. Bring a list of your tablets and any recent results.

04
Tests, if needed

We arrange any scans, monitors or blood tests you need, usually at Cambridge University Hospitals.

05
Your plan

A clear plan, written down for you, with a copy sent to your GP. We follow you up for as long as you need us.

Before you come in

What to bring.

Any home blood-pressure readings you’ve done recently
Any letters, scans or blood-test results you already have
Photo ID and, if you have insurance, your policy number and pre-authorisation code
A note of any heart problems in your family
Anything you want to ask — write it down so you don’t forget

Common questions

Things people often ask us.

Do I need a GP referral?+

No, you don’t. Most of our patients book themselves in directly. If you happen to have a GP letter, that’s great too — it sometimes speeds things up.

How long is the first appointment?+

30 minutes with your consultant. Follow-up appointments are usually shorter.

Will my insurance cover it?+

We work with all the major UK insurers — Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality, WPA and others. We sort the paperwork with them for you. If you’re paying yourself, we send a clear written quote first.

Where do I come?+

We will send you further details in your appointment letter.

Will my GP know what we agreed?+

Yes — with your permission, we write a clear letter to your GP after every visit, so your everyday care stays joined up.
